Tribute & Message From The Family

Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother. Great-Great Grandmother

Mary Kathryn Jobst, born January 5, 1939 to Karl Wehner and Anna (Schon) Wehner passed on March 31, 2021 at the age of 82.

Mary arrived in America from Germany on November 6, 1951, when she was 12 years old. She married Kurt Jobst on May 31, 1958 and they had eight children, twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Mary worked as an office manager and served multiple terms as a Trustee for the Palatine Township. Mary was well known for her sense of humor and the gift of gab. She would strike up a conversation with complete strangers everywhere she went, weather it was waiting in line at a store, at the airport, or on the street. Even in her last hours, she was teasing the nurse at the hospital. He asked her age and she said "you know you are not supposed to ask a woman her age."
Mary is survived by her children; Liz (Gerald) Scarim, Kurt (Mary) Jobst, Karl (Lisa) Jobst, Maryanne (Randy) Sinitean, Pete (Tracy) Jobst, Brigitte (Scott) Krieman, Heidi (Kyle) Courtney, Karin (Mark) Swencki, Grandchildren; Joshua (Katie) Scarim, Angela Scarim (deceased), Tarah Scarim, Jeremiah (Ashley) Scarim, Justin (Susan) Jobst, Julie (Adam) Taylor, Sarah (Bernard) Jobst, Bryan Jobst, Pete Jobst, Dan Jobst, Randy (Eden) Sinitean, Eden (Bryan) Stephan, Heather Hitt, Nick Jobst,Tori Jobst, Zach Jobst, Eric (Claire) Fill, Dan (Julia) Fill, Alex Fill, Alan (Andrea) Miller, Heather (Jared) Lose, Ann (Doug) Rooney, Amy (John) Burton-Guevara; Her Thirty-Five Great Grandchildren; and Two Great-Great Grandchildren.
