Tribute & Message From The Family

Lisa was born on December 13th, 1964 to Robert and Margaret (Linster) Gengler.

She was a graduate of Rosary High School in 1983 and completed work towards an Associate Degree. Lisa loved her job working with her work family at d'Escoto. She was a proud lesbian woman, but her real passion was being an amazing and devoted mom to her beautiful girls Samantha Nicole and Jasmine Grace.

Lisa is dearly loved by her siblings Laura (Michael) Colantoni, Linda (Kevin) Kott, and Tim (Yvonne) Gengler . She earned her reputation as Auntie Extraordinaire with nieces Alisha, Elizabeth, and Lauren (Eric) and with nephews Andrew (Anna), Ben, Brandon (Nancy) and Michael. She doted on her great nieces and nephews Adrianna, Elliana, Evan, Owen, and Zachary. She counted her aunt Connie, uncle Dave, and cousins Eric (Jeremy) and Jason (Kristy) and family as close as her loved ones.

Lisa had a talent for creating family and community among her many friends staying especially close to Judy McGee (Weistroffer) and Sue Laurich (Ruddy) often sharing her ability to create a good time her sense of humor and generosity with all who were lucky enough to know her.

She was proceeded in death by her mother Margaret (Linster) and father Robert Gengler— from whom she learned and lived the motto of 'Family First'.

At Lisa's request to match her spirit, a Celebration of Life party will be held on July 3rd at 3pm until 6pm at Emmett's Brewing Company in West Dundee.
All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the 'Go Fund Me' account set up to support her dream of having both her girls graduate from college. https://www.gofundme.com/f/lisa-stevens-girls-education-fund?qid=62d68dac69a7b2547cd553545d9676c5.
