Obituary

Ann Pauline (Morck) DiLenge passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2020. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Friend, and Auntie. Throughout her life, she was known for her tenacity, strength and loving heart.

Ann was born into a large Norwegian family in Chicago on October 14, 1930. She was the fourth of five children, and was close with all her siblings. Family was everything to her. For many years, you'd be able to find her and the rest of the family spending their summer weekends together having a backyard barbecue or pool party. Family Christmases were famous, with many cherished memories created through the years.

On September 1st 1956, Ann married her beloved husband Jim DiLenge. Together they had two sons, James and Robert. They raised their family across the east coast and Midwest, mainly in Long Island, New York, and Prospect Heights, Illinois. In their retirement years, Ann and Jim lived in different areas across south Florida. Ann's love of decorating could be seen in each home she lived in. She always had a knack for making each room perfectly display her personality.

She spent much of her career at Sara Lee as a bookkeeper, but later worked for many years at Mount Prospect State Bank before she retired.

In her free time, she loved to read a good mystery novel or get her nails painted in a nice mauve shade. She was a fantastic cook, and could make Norwegian pancakes and rutabaga like no other. She loved spending time with her granddaughters, Rebecca, Erica, Mary and Diana.

She was proceeded in death by her husband James DiLenge, siblings Roy Morck, Adeline Beierle, Shirley Rowe and Paul Morck, and daughter-in-law Teresa DiLenge.

She is survived by her sons James (Olga) DiLenge, Robert DiLenge, and granddaughters Rebecca (James) Santiago, Erica DiLenge, Mary DiLenge, and Diana DiLenge.

She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony for her immediate family on June 18th. A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.
