Obituary

Floyd Richard Kerner, Jr., age 79, of Wauconda died peacefully on June 2, 2020.

He was born on December 06, 1940, in Chicago, IL.

Floyd is survived by his loving children Robert Kerner, Karen (Randal) Buenzli, Suzanne (Gordon) Brodin, David Kerner, and by his grandchildren Spenser, Delaney, Tanner, Casey, Andrew, and Carson.

Floyd was preceded in death by his adoring mother Grace (Sandborn) Kerner Born and his namesake Floyd Kerner, Sr. Two sisters, Carol Biewer and Joyce Canovas and his nephew Tom Biewer.

Floyd attended high school at Steinmetz in Chicago and he attended DeVry for continued education. He was employed by Motorola for over 30 years. When he retired, he moved to Wauconda where he pursued his passion for making people laugh and his dream of owning his own business by opening Giggles, a novelty shop in downtown Wauconda. He also loved music and spent some time providing entertainment for local events. He was always a large presence in the lives of his children and although he struggled with many ailments in the latter part of his life, he was always willing to share a good story (and pizza) with everyone! He will be greatly missed.
