Obituary for Georgianne Chromczak

August 30, 1959 - August 5, 2020
Johnsburg, Illinois | Age 60

Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend

Georgianne Chromczak, age 60, of Johnsburg, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Georgianne was born August 30, 1959, in Chicago, the daughter of Henry J. and Pauline (Mesko) Kmack. On July 26, 1980, she married the love of her life, Henry J. Chromczak, Jr., at First Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights.

Georgianne was highly motivated, always excelled in everything she did. As an 'A' student she won a prestigious award for her science fair project in high school. After graduating she started as a clerk then became an executive secretary for a top financial company. She decided to move on and spent the next 10 years as a secretary/receptionist/bookkeeper for a smaller locksmith company. During this time, she had her first son, and then had to quit when she was bed ridden toward the end of her pregnancy with the twins. Little wonder as they were 8lb. and 7lb. 10 oz. at birth. For the next few years, she founded McMOM's, a local support group for Mothers of Multiples and all the while was an amazing homemaker who also found time to paint, craft, garden, and cook fabulous meals. As the kids entered school, she became a teacher's assistant. Georgianne was a Girl Scout Troop leader and her daughter received her Silver award. She also was a mother of two Eagle Scouts. She then turned her attention to earning her BA in Special Education. She started as a Special Education Instructor for an elementary school and enjoyed the challenges presented each day. She was well respected among her peers but unfortunately her time teaching was interrupted first by ovarian cancer and a few years later MDS which she was unable to beat, but not for the lack of trying.

Georgianne is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Henry Chromczak, Jr. of Johnsburg; and children: Henry J. Chromczak, III of Johnsburg, Lillian Chromczak of Johnsburg, and Phillip Chromczak of Hamilton, Ohio. She is further survived by her siblings: Marianne (Robert) Strom of Thousand Oaks, California, Gerald (Judy) Kmack of Chilton, Wisconsin, and Thomas Kmack of Chicago, Illinois. Georgianne was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Pauline Kmack.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 - 8 P.M., on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 P.M., in the funeral home chapel.
