Obituary

Loving mother of Steve Mack (Angie), Rick Mack (Barb), Lori Mathey (Eric). Predeceased by daughter Denise Smith (Harold).
Adoring Grandmother to Trevor Mack (Stephanie), Sarah Mack and Emily Mack. Proud Great Grandmother to Hudson Mack and his baby sister who will make her debut in December. Beloved daughter to the late Forrest and Grace Reinhardt nee Snell and loving sister to her late brother Forrest "Woody" Reinhardt Jr. where a day has not gone by that she had not missed him. Loyal and loving best friend to Nancy Chernak.

The love she had for her dear sweet cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friendships throughout her life is immeasurable. She cherished each and every one of those relationships.

Gloria grew up on the north side of Chicago which may possibly have been her fondest memories in life. She loved her family with all of her heart. Her time was spent with her grandparents, parents, brother Woody, aunts, uncles and all of her cousins. When she spoke of this time in her life her eyes lit up every time. Her immediate family moved to McHenry County when she was 16 years old and she settled in the Johnsburg and Ringwood areas where she raised her children and spent the rest of her life around that area. After raising her kids, Gloria went back to work in the accounting departments of Allied Die Casting and Tempus Construction, retiring in 2004. Gloria was an amazing gardener and she loved her dogs. She was a lifelong Christian and a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in McHenry, IL where she actively served in many ministries over the years including her role as a stephen minister for several years. Gloria was given the gift of public service and a philanthropic heart.

She was recognized as a leader in many organizations including the McHenry County Historical Society, McHenry County Historic Preservation Commission, Civil War Roundtable, McHenry County Conservation District, and Board Member at Valley Hi Nursing Home in McHenry County. In 1994 she played a leading role in Ringwood's successful incorporation efforts and became its first Planning Commission Chair. She received the 2011 Frank E. Low award in recognition of her overall contributions to the quality of life in the greater McHenry area. One of Gloria's proudest accomplishments was the restoration of 3 Civil War flags. These flags were carried by the 95th Illinois Infantry made up volunteers from Boone and McHenry Counties, one of which hangs prominently in the McHenry County Government center. She loved America and all the veterans that served to protect it.
In addition, she spent many years as a Hospice Volunteer for JourneyCare where she also peacefully took her last breath surrounded by her loved ones.
She made the world a better place with her gifts to charity and her love to her family and friends. She now walks in peace with the Lord.
