Obituary

Janet L. (Schuringa) Frantz, 78, of McHenry, went into the loving arms of Jesus on April 20, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, after a short, relentless battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Janet is survived by her husband, Wayne Frantz; son, James (Susan) Frantz and daughter, Kelly (Mike) Vance; grandchildren: Stephanie (Graham) Olsen, Kristal (Greg) Adams, Kyle Frantz, Nicole Frantz, Michelle Frantz, and Jennifer (Jordan) Kuchenmeister; and great granddaughter, Adelyn Kuchenmeister. Janet is further survived by her sisters: Carol Toussaint, Sheila (Doug) MacDougall, Shirley (Brent) MacDougall, and Valerie (Charles) Jacques; brother, Charles (Jeanette) Schuringa and many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Janet was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Frantz; brother Thomas Schuringa; sisters: Mildred Kulin, and Joanne Kegebein; parents, Russell and Gladys Schuringa; and brothers-in-law: Fredrick, Arthur, Donald, Richard, Robert, and Frank Frantz.

Janet was born on March 23, 1943 in Woodstock Illinois, the daughter of Russell and Gladys (Callahan) Schuringa. She attended McHenry East Campus Community High School. On June 11, 1960, she married Wayne Frantz to whom she was a faithful wife of over 60 years. Janet was a devoted mother, who stayed home to raise their three children. Her children were very active in sports, dance, and school activities and she was their biggest cheerleader! Her devotion and support continued with her grandchildren. She could always be found attending their games, activities, and graduations, showing her loving support in all her family did.

In 1985 Janet went to work for Bjorkman's Ace Hardware as a cashier and administrative assistant to Craig and Steve Bjorkman. She built long lasting, faithful friendships that continued past her retirement to her final breath.

Janet had a sweet relationship with her sisters. Whether it was crocheting, sewing, lunches, or weekend getaways; laughter abounded, and cherished memories were created. When they weren't together, morning phone chats were a consistent tradition.

Janet's door was always open, and you never left hungry, thirsty or without feeling her gratitude for your visit. Her warm hospitality and scrumptious cooking skills blessed us with family dinners, holiday dinners and gracious entertainment with family and friends.

Janet was a very loyal wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She committed her life to serving and loving her family. She was a best friend to many and was always there to offer support, help, or a warm hug. She will be dearly missed. She has run the race of life selflessly and faithfully. Now she receives the crown of life as she enters eternity.

Join us in sharing memories and celebrating her life as we gather for a visitation on Sunday, April 25, 2021, from 4-7 p.m., at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, Illinois. Visitation will continue Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary Illinois.
