Obituary for Marci A. Zeoli (née Gomberg)

November 22, 1961 - April 26, 2021
McHenry, Illinois | Age 59

Marci A. Zeoli (née Gomberg), age 59, of McHenry passed away peacefully at her home on April 26, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 22, 1961, the daughter of Neal I. and the late Yvonne D. Gomberg. She married her beloved husband Richard D. Zeoli on June 8, 1986 in Lincolnshire, Illinois.

Graduate of Maine East of Des Plaines, Marci found her love of music as a percussionist and was an accomplished pianist. Graduated from Drake in 1984 with a Bachelors majoring in Psychology. Aside from her studying, she found time honing in on her pool playing skills, and dominating Ms. PacMan. That summer, she met the love of her life, Rick, whom she married in 1986. Marci worked for Antioch Police Department, and then became a stay at home Supermom taking care of her three children and engaging in all school and extracurriculars. She had a knack for entrepreneurship, shown through her own Marci's Mushroom delivery service. Later she used that acumen to help start and run the family restaurant, Ricky's Lunchbox. Her immense passion for others was shown through her generous time spent volunteering for her community, MADD, Helping Paws, along with serving as a McHenry County election judge for fifteen years. During a summer Sunday, she could be found enjoying an afternoon relaxing in the pool, sipping on one of Rick's famous Mai Tais and listening to the many songs she had in her music library. She loved driving around in her convertibles and dining out supporting local restaurants. She had an immense love for her family, music, chocolate and ding dongs!

Marci is survived by her husband of 35 years: Richard Zeoli; her children: Nicole (Micheal) Martinez, Brittany Zeoli, Jeremy Zeoli and her furry child: Laci; further surviving are; her granddaughter Eris Yvonne Martinez as well as her furry grandchildren: Nugget and Porter; her father Neal Gomberg, sister Diane (Norman) Agins; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews and aunt.

She was preceded in death by her mother Yvonne Gomberg who preceded her in death in 2020.
