Obituary

Paul W. Wilson, age 60, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 6, 2018, in McHenry. He was born in Chicago on December 10, 1957 to George and Gertrude (nee Ras) Wilson. On September 18, 1993, he married the love of his life, Susan, to whom he was a caring and loving husband.
Paul was a man who would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He'd answer anyone's call at any time of day and be there to help. He loved the water – being on it, in it, and simply relaxing by it – and especially loved to share it with anyone who wanted to go out with him on the boat. Everywhere he went in town, Paul knew someone; if he met someone he didn't, he made sure to fix that by the time he was done shopping or eating. He could talk with anyone and make them laugh. These qualities made him an incredible family man. Paul was a loving husband and father, an amazing and wonderful Papa, and a great brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend to all. Paul truly loved his family, and will be dearly missed.
Paul is survived by his cherished wife, Susan (nee Hayhurst) Wilson; his dear children, Katrina (Daniel) Colin and Lenny (Monika) Huhn III; and his precious granddaughter, Lillian. He is further survived by his siblings Greg (Georgann) Wilson, Michael Wilson, Andy (Judy) Wilson, and Margaret Mary Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Wilson; his brothers Edward and Thomas Wilson; and his sisters Mary Fran and Mary Beth Wilson.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 11th at Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, IL 60050. A celebration of Paul's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 12th at Vickie's Place, 1211 N River Rd, McHenry, IL 60051. Interment will be private.
