Obituary

Scott McGraw, age 52, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 17, 2021.

Scott enjoyed God's creations: whether it be a majestic sunset, walking through the nature preserve, watching wildlife, or rescuing a baby raccoon which he named George Cooney. He was also part of the Truth Warriors Christian drama team where he was able to powerfully express emotions to convey Jesus' love and compassion for God's people.

Scott always loved to make people laugh and during his school years everyone knew him as the class clown. From a young age, he was fascinated by anything with a motor and wheels. His collection started at the age of 6 years old with his first minibike; and throughout the years, he added a few motorcycles, ATV's, hobby cars, etc. up until his latest purchase of two motorized scooters that he bought to ride with his nieces and nephews. He liked going to car shows and sought after all types of collectables and often brought his nieces and nephews to Volo Antique Mall and Auto Museum. Scott also recently enjoyed attending a painting class with his best friend and, by the end of it, was so proud of his completed work of art.

Scott is survived by his sisters: Annette Rowley, Carolyn Smith, Cindy (Jeff) Van Patten, and Jennifer McGraw. Loving uncle to Eric, Hannah, Henry, Alexis, Benjamin, Isaac, Jonathan, Timothy, Samuel, David, Hope, Joshua, Daniel, and Bella. He was reunited with his mother Janice Poehler in heaven, who went to be with the Lord shortly after his death.
He was preceded in death by his father Bennie McGraw.

Visitation will be held at Living Waters Church in Grayslake, IL on Saturday, October 16, 2021 will be at 10:30 am, funeral service will begin at 11:30 am. Interment will be private.
