Obituary

Stanley Martin Johansen, 81, passed away September 1, 2021. He was born on January 12, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ralph G. Johansen Jr. and Nancy (nee Glandon) Johansen. Stan served in the U.S Air Force from 1958 to 1962 becoming a Morse intercept operator and teaching technical classes in Morse code. After military service he trained in sheet metal work and later became Superintendent at Sherman Plumbing and Heating in Crystal Lake. At age 51 he started his own business, Healthy Hearth Chimney Service, cleaning and repairing brick chimney's, which he continued doing well into his 70's. He and his wife Pam and their dogs enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the country in their RV, often bringing grandchildren with them.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pamela; his son Gerald Johansen, step daughter Christine (Erik) Lameka, step sons Carl (Sheryl) Johansen and Patrick Johansen; siblings, Judith Ann (Gary) Moore, Melinda Gail (William) Kist, Craig (June) Brown, sister-in-law, Patricia Johansen, and grandchildren; Thomas Molenda, Annastacia (Adam) Harle, Amy Merritt and Lucas Merritt and great grandson Jamison J. Harle and several very much loved nieces and nephews.

Son Jeffrey Johansen, daughter Jennifer Molenda, brother Ralph G. Johansen III, and his parents and step father, Lloyd Brown and nephew Douglas Johansen preceded him in death.

Visitation from 11:00 to 2:00 with Memorial Service at 2:00 will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at the Colonial Funeral Home 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry, IL. Interment will be private.
