Obituary

Thomas Allen LaCount, Jr. "TJ", died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Lutheran General Children's Hospital.

TJ was born on May 6, 2007, to Angie and Tom LaCount. He had one sister, Ally LaCount. TJ was surrounded by love from the moment of his birth, because of the care and love of his parents, sister and grandparents Charlie and Salley Layton and the late William and Lois LaCount. He was a big fan of the outdoors and loved spending a long summer evening hanging out with family in the front yard watching folks go by. TJ was an inspiration to everyone he met.

He attended Creekside Middle School in Woodstock, Illinois. TJ loved school and looked forward everyday to when the bus would roll up in front of his house to pick him up. When he was not attending school, TJ loved to listen to and play music. For TJ, music was the center of his life. At night, Show Me What I'm Looking For would sing him to sleep and on days when he was not feeling well, TJ would lift his spirits by listening to his favorite musician, PitBull. When he wasn't listening to music, TJ loved to chill out in front of the TV and create his own music with the aid of his Playschool instruments. In addition to his music, TJ was an avid sports fan. On summer game days he would proudly wear his St. Louis Cardinals gear and during the fall, it was the San Francisco 49ers that he cheered for. In addition to pro sports, TJ was an avid fan of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. His sports career did not end there. In 2012, TJ was named Honorary Captain of the Mount Carmel High School football team, earning a state championship ring with the Caravan that season.
